Using painters tape or masking tape

On card stock or glossy ATC tear strips of painters tape or masking tape and lay them randomly on the ATC. If using masking tape, it may be necessary to lay the sticky side on pants or shirt to remove some of the stickiness. Otherwise, it may ruin the ATC piece.

Now sponge some color onto the ATC. On my ATC I used ctmh exclusive inks: honey, sunny yellow and key lime. Pull the tape off the ATC and stamp or collage as usual. This technique makes a pretty cool background. It usually works well with glossy card stock. I used photo card stock.
